Originally, I’m from a small Dutch town in the east of the Netherlands: Haaksbergen. It’s where I grew up and later studied Creative Business at Saxion University of Applied Sciences in nearby Enschede.
In late August 2021, I moved to Valencia for what was supposed to be four months. Almost five years later, I’m still here. I found my own media naranja, and in 2024 our daughter was born.
Valencia has become home. In my opinion, the most beautiful city in the world: creative, warm and full of energy, a place where ideas come naturally and life feels a little lighter.
My marketing journey started early. At fifteen I took my first part-time jobs in the industry, gaining experience while studying. Over the years I’ve worked as an SEO copywriter, managed two webshops, run social media for a food brand, worked as a B2B marketer and helped recruitment companies attract the right candidates through strategy, content and advertising.
Since mid-2025 I’ve been doing this on a freelance basis. I love the freedom and creativity it brings, and I enjoy supporting multiple clients with ideas, content and direction that genuinely help their brands grow.
So… Where does ‘La Media Naranja’ come from? In Spanish, “media naranja” means “your other half.”
And that’s exactly what I am: the other half of your business when it comes to marketing. The one who takes it off your plate and makes sure it’s actually done right.
Besides that, the name is a reference to me, my life, and what I can do for you. Media, of course, stands for what I love to work on: marketing and (social) media. And orange? That is Valencia, the city I now call home. It’s also the national colour of the Netherlands, where I’m originally from. So the name just felt right.
